David Sterry OBE - Non-executive Chairman David Sterry OBE - Non-executive Chairman 
David is a chartered civil engineer with 40 years' experience in the support and construction services industry. David was formerly Chief Executive of May Gurney for eight years, having led an MBO of the business in 2001 and the listing of the business on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange in June 2006. David stood down as Chief Executive of May Gurney in July 2008, to become non-executive Chairman. David takes a keen interest in Transport and is Chairman of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association's Transport Group and Road Industry Liaison Committee. In 2005 David was awarded an OBE for services to civil engineering specifically in the areas of partnering and innovation. David sits on May Gurney's nominations and remuneration committees.
Philip Fellowes-Prynne - Chief Executive Philip Fellowes-Prynne - Chief Executive 
Philip has a wealth of experience in the infrastructure and waste support services sectors and prior to joining May Gurney he was chief executive of Accord plc. As well as overall responsibility for the operational and commercial performance of the Company, Philip also has Board responsibility for human resources and health and safety.
Matt Stevens - Group Finance Director Matt Stevens - Group Finance Director 
Matt Stevens joined May Gurney in December 2009 to take up the position of group finance director. Prior to joining May Gurney, Matt was divisional finance and commercial director of Serco Defence, Science and Technology, Serco's largest division. Matt occupied senior positions at Serco since 2001. Matt has overall control of the strategic development and management of corporate finance and information systems.
Tim Ross - Senior Non-executive Director Tim Ross - Senior Non-executive Director 
Tim, a solicitor and former main board director of George Wimpey plc served as non-executive Chairman of May Gurney from January 2005 to July 2008. Tim is also non-executive chairman of Hargreaves Services plc and Superglass Holdings plc, deputy chairman of Connaught plc, and is a non-executive director of Lavendon Group plc and a number of private companies. He is a member of the Governing Council of the University of Bristol. Tim is Chairman of May Gurney's nominations and remuneration committees and is a member of the audit committee.
Andrew Walker - Non-executive director Andrew Walker - Non-executive director 
Andrew is an engineer with wide public company experience and was formerly chief executive of South Wales Electricity plc and McKechnie plc. Andrew is non-executive chairman of Brintons Limited and holds non-executive directorships at API Group plc, Delta plc, Manganese Bronze Holdings plc, Plastics Capital plc and Porvair plc. Andrew is a member of May Gurney's audit, nominations and remuneration committees.
Ishbel Macpherson - Non-executive Director Ishbel Macpherson - Non-executive Director 
Ishbel Macpherson joined the May Gurney Board in April 2010. Ishbel was an investment banker for more than 20 years, specialising in UK mid-market corporate finance. Her most recent role was as Head of UK Emerging Companies Corporate Finance at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.
She has extensive public company experience and currently holds non-executive directorships at GAME Group plc, Hydrogen Group plc, Speedy Hire plc and Dignity plc.
Simon Howell - Company Secretary Simon Howell - Company Secretary 
Prior to joining May Gurney, Simon was Company Secretary of the AIM-listed company, UBC Media Group plc. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries.

Management team

Gerry Duffy - Group SHEA Director Gerry Duffy - Group SHEA Director 
Gerry brings with him more than 20 years' experience in managing health, safety and environment systems and he has held a number of senior positions. Prior to joining May Gurney he was safety and assurance director for Serco Civil Government, and before that he was HSE director for Accord plc. Gerry has overall responsibility for May Gurney's SHEA department and will determine the company's strategy for safety, health, environment and assurance.
Neville Hounsome - HR Director Neville Hounsome - HR Director 
A seasoned professional with more than 23 years' in HR, Neville joined May Gurney in March 2009. Previously he was assistant chief officer (people) with Norfolk Constabulary, where he led the HR function since May 2006. Before that he was HR director at McCain Foods and spent almost 10 years with Rolls-Royce Aerospace, working in industrial relations, HR policy, management development and other personnel roles.
Gary Mills - Managing Director, Highway Services Gary Mills - Managing Director, Highway Services 
Gary joined May Gurney on 1 April as managing director for Highway Services. Gary is an experienced operations director with organisations including Carillion, Alfred McAlpine and Balfour Beatty. Gary also has responsibility for business improvement and sustainability in Highway Services.
Nicola Peake - Managing Director Environmental Services Nicola Peake - Managing Director Environmental Services 
Nicola Peake has an impressive track record for growing businesses serving local government. Prior to joining May Gurney in April 2008, she was responsible for the start-up of Accord Facilities Management and more than doubled the size of the business by winning new customers and developing wider services.
Tim Read - Group Corporate Development Director Tim Read - Group Corporate Development Director 
Tim Read is a certified accountant and a graduate of the Harvard Business School. He has 24 years experience in the utility sector and was formerly the Managing Director of T J Brent Ltd, where he led the Management Buy-Out from the Pennon Group plc in 2000. Tim is responsible for May Gurney's acquisition strategy, including the identification, negotiation and successful integration of acquired businesses.
Michael Thompson - Managing Director, Utility Services & Waterways Services Michael Thompson - Managing Director, Utility Services & Waterways Services 
Michael is a Chartered Surveyor with an impressive track record in construction and support services, built up over 28 years. His career includes spells with John Laing and Kier, followed by 18 years with Interserve (formerly Tilbury Construction) - most recently as Commercial Director in its facilities management business. Michael joined May Gurney in April 2008.
John Wilkinson - Managing Director, Rail Services & Facility Services John Wilkinson - Managing Director, Rail Services & Facility Services 
John has more than 20 years' experience in delivering multi disciplinary infrastructure related projects. He joined May Gurney in 2006 to manage the £42m award winning High Level Bridge project in Newcastle upon Tyne. John has responsibility for his sector's financial performance and for maintaining and improving our excellent record for project delivery, customer satisfaction and safety. He is also responsible for growing the sector to ensure we meet our five-year business plan and key objective of 'Being the Best'.
